Excavator Operator

Ark Contracting Services LLC headquartered in Kennedale, Texas was established in 2004 and is a specialty construction contractor focused in heavy civil wet ground and infrastructure projects with the North Texas area. The current scope of practice includes but is not limited to gabion structures, concrete structures, shoring systems, earth retention structures, pipelines, earth anchors systems, erosion protection, and dredging disciplines. The ideal candidate would have the ability to leverage his/her professional experience, education, strong interpersonal skills to be an effective team player.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with field and office personnel
  • Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety, looking out for yourself and others
  • Unload and carry materials at construction sites
  • Follow directions from Foremen, Superintendents
  • safely operates Excavator and performs mechanic and general labor duties
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary
  • Efficient operation of Excavator.
  • Excavate and move materials as instructed by supervisors.
  • Maintain safe working conditions for all present in the immediate area.
  • Perform and document daily inspections of assigned equipment.
  • Keep assigned equipment clean and orderly.
  • Understand safe working loads and signals
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
  • Ability to use software base management systems to login in time and attendance as well as pertinent information regarding tools and job site equipment
  • Committed to safety and attends regular on the job training with Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, and Safety Officer
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with field and office personnel
  • Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety, looking out for yourself and others
  • 1-2 years' experience operating excavator preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Work long shifts
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination, quick reaction times.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots.
  • Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area up to 1/2 mile
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check to work on government project.
