Job Description

The Fabrication Welder is responsible for welding and fabricating components to print specifications in a manufacturing environment. This is a first-shift, hands-on role requiring strong blueprint reading, layout, and fabrication skills. The ideal candidate can independently build from prints and meet production standards while maintaining quality and safety.

• Operate fabrication equipment including hand plasma cutters, saws, brake press, and deburring equipment
• Weld quality parts to blueprint specifications using jigs when available
• Perform layout and fabrication work to print requirements
• Meet production standard times while maintaining weld quality
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures during welding and fabrication operations

• High School diploma or GED required
• 5+ years of fabrication welding experience required
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Proven experience laying out and fabricating parts to print
• MIG welding experience required
• Must pass an on-site weld test prior to placement
• Strong measurement skills including fractions, decimals, and angles
• Proficient with calipers, tape measure (to 1/32"), squares, and angle squares
• Experience using hand tools, air tools, grinders, overhead cranes, and steel handling equipment
• Forklift experience or ability to be trained

• HOT role with no active candidates
• Local candidates only to the Waterloo / Cedar Falls, Iowa area
• 1st shift, fully on-site role
• Must have 5+ years of fabrication welding experience
• Must be able to build from blueprints and perform layout to print
