We are looking for a skilled Government Work Proposal Specialist to join our team in Philomath, Oregon. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in developing clear, compelling, and competitive government proposals for business services. Collaborating with various teams, you will ensure that submissions align with federal requirements and support the organization's growth through strategic proposal development and management.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and identify government work opportunities at federal, state, and local levels related to wildland firefighting, natural resource management, and emergency response.

• Review solicitation documents to assess requirements, risks, deadlines, and compliance criteria.

• Lead proposal planning efforts, including needs assessments, timeline creation, and coordination with leadership and subject matter experts.

• Write persuasive and technically accurate proposals tailored to federal guidelines, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for proposal accuracy and completeness.

• Manage proposal timelines, deliverables, and internal review processes to ensure timely and compliant submissions.

• Prepare and format final proposal packages, ensuring all attachments and certifications meet submission standards.

• Submit proposals through designated government platforms and ensure adherence to electronic and physical delivery requirements.

• Track proposal outcomes and respond to agency requests for clarifications or additional information.

• Support post-award activities, including contract setup, compliance planning, and tracking funded projects.

• At least 3 years of experience in writing government proposals, preferably within natural resources or wildland firefighting sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage the full lifecycle of proposal development, from planning to final submission.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state funding mechanisms, including competitive RFPs and cooperative agreements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with proposal submission platforms and project management tools.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across various departments.
• Background in project management, with a focus on proposal development and compliance.
