Job Description
Our client is seeking a safety-minded Maintenance Manager to ensure a secure and operational environment for both employees and customers. This position includes managing building and equipment maintenance across multiple locations within a 100-mile radius. Responsibilities involve servicing fuel equipment, responding to spills, completing repairs, managing maintenance staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in construction, plumbing, electrical, and painting, with strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Operations
- Oversee repairs, installations, and upkeep of all buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities, including electrical, plumbing, and general construction.
- Perform inspections, identify issues, and ensure timely resolution.
- Establish a preventive maintenance plan and ensure its execution.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and daily activity reports.
- Replace filters and perform routine equipment servicing.
Team Leadership
- Manage maintenance staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling.
- Lead by example with a strong focus on safety and quality.
- Provide guidance and support to maintenance personnel; help resolve technical and work-related problems.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Respond to and manage spills at fuel and convenience store sites.
- Champion a safety-first culture through consistent training, monitoring, and adherence to policies.
Budgeting & Inventory
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets.
- Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts.
- Place orders and coordinate with vendors as needed.
Reporting & Systems
- Use facility management software to track work orders, schedules, and maintenance history.
- Regularly report on maintenance performance and issues to senior management.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and layouts in planning and executing projects.
Additional Duties
- Occasionally deliver fuel tanks to sites (CDL B with Hazmat required—additional compensation provided).
- Complete and close out work orders and manage invoicing in the field.
- Travel within a 100-mile radius with occasional weekend callouts.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Facility Maintenance Manager or in a similar leadership role.
- Proficiency in basic construction, electrical, plumbing, and painting.
- Experience with facility management or computerized maintenance systems (CMMS).
- Strong understanding of budgeting, performance management, and project coordination.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement (company will assist).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical capability for walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
