Position Summary: The Physical Therapist Assistant , the PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed PT to implement treatment plans, assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals, and ensure a high standard of care in a collaborative environment.

Position Requirements

Education : Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program - required.

Licensure : Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Nebraska and / or Iowa - required.

Certification : Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of hire.

Experience : Any Orthopedic experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant required.

Essential Job Functions

  • Implements treatment programs designed by a physical therapist to ensure quality patient care
  • Maintains complete and accurate records pertinent to patient treatment to assure proper documentation and to be in regulatory compliance
  • Maintains professional skills/competencies to effectively and progressively meet the demands of the position
  • Provide clinical instruction to students when assigned
  • Incumbent is expected to comply with safety policies and procedures, regulatory requirements such as OSHA and JCAHO and to participate in corporate-wide and department safety activities
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings.
  • Attend mandatory educational programs.
  • Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements: This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
