The City of Lenexa is now hiring Seasonal Pool Cashiers for summer 2026 within the Parks and Recreation Department. This position is a great opportunity to build valuable customer service and teamwork skills while serving the community at one of our outdoor pool facilities:

• Flat Rock Creek: 13120 W. 103rd St.
• Ad Astra Pool: 8265 Maurer Rd.
• Sar-Ko-Par Aquatic Center: 8801 Greenway Ln.

Hiring Timeline:
Applications are currently being accepted. The hiring process for seasonal Pool Cashiers will begin in January 2026 , with start dates in May . Applicants will be contacted starting the week of January 19 about next steps in the hiring process. Interviews will take place throughout February and March , with final selections made before the start of the season.

Schedule:

• Pools operate Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
• Flexible scheduling with daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Staff assist with opening/closing duties, front desk, cleaning tasks, and concession operations for the season.
• Pre-season training begins in early May. Attendance at mandatory training sessions is required.

Position Summary:

Pool Cashiers provide excellent customer service by greeting patrons, managing pool admissions, and handling concession stand operations. Responsibilities include:

• Collecting fees, operating a cash register, and making change.
• Preparing and serving food and beverages.
• Answering phones and maintaining a clean, organized facility.
• Safely handling food items and supplies.
• Assisting with cleaning and other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 14 years old.
• Able to work an average of 10 hours per week.

Starting rate of pay is $12.00 per hour with annual raises.

Environmental and Physical Factors: Work is performed in and around an outdoor pool environment with frequent exposure to sun, heat, humidity, wind, and other weather conditions. The position requires standing and moving for extended periods of time and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. Tasks involve physical activity, use of hands, and clear vision to complete work safely and accurately.

Offers of employment are contingent upon successfully passing a drug screen. A background check is required for applicants aged 18 and older.
