The Sterile Processing Technician II prepares, assembles, sterilizes, and transports surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols. They ensure proper decontamination, maintain sterilization records, and manage surgical case carts according to surgeon preferences while complying with safety and quality standards. This role requires certification, attention to detail, and effective communication within a healthcare environment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, prepares, assembles, maintains, and transports surgical trays, instruments, and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing.
JOB DUTIES:
Instrumentation Decontamination:
Follows Universal Precautions by wearing the appropriate protective attire while working in the decontamination area.
Instrumentation Assembly:
Communicates any issues that arise with instrument preparation to the Sterile ProcessingSupervisor or Manager.
Sterilization:
Picks surgical case carts by following established Surgeon Preference Cards or Procedural Pick list / requisition.
Case Carts & Supplies:
